ADDISON COUNTY — Unlike 2015, when Otter Valley and Mount Abraham union high school field hockey teams met in the Division II final and Middlebury won a first-round D-I game, the 2016 field hockey postseason in these parts was relatively brief: Only the defending D-II champion Otters won a playoff contest this time around.

But each team still enjoyed good moments, especially Coach Stacey Edmunds-Brickell’s 8-6 Otters and their high-scoring senior Allison Lowell, who repeats as the Addison Independent Field Hockey Player of the Year.

The good? The Panthers held a second straight foe to fewer than 40 points, limited the 2-2 Badgers to 23 percent shooting, and outrebounded their third straight opponent, in this case by 54-29.
