Relay for Life raises $77,000 for cancer research

MIDDLEBURY — Relay for Life, an all-night walk staged at the Middlebury College athletic fields, drew hundreds of participants last Friday and Saturday and raised nearly $77,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Cornwall baker is maple dessert recipe winner

SHOREHAM — The winning entry in the first Sugarhouse Dessert Contest at the Vermont Trade Winds Farm during the annual Maple Open House weekend was Sue Record of Cornwall with her fabulous Maple Sugar Pound Cake with browned sugar maple glaze.

“It was moist and delicious,” said Loraine Hescock, of Trade Winds Farm.
