Owen, who celebrated his 8th birthday last Tuesday, passed his hunter safety course the night before his first hunt, then shot the turkey — which sported a nine-inch beard and one-inch spurs — at 6 the next morning.

MEMBERS OF JUSTICE For Palestine at Middlebury College staged a mock checkpoint outside Proctor Dining Hall during an exam week midnight breakfast Wednesday night. The theatrical demonstration was staged to raise awareness of living conditions in the Middle East. The college’s public safety department shut down the checkpoint demonstration but the checkpoint and information boards were on display here during the lunch hour on Thursday.
