Police arrest five in Bristol armed robbery, burglary

BRISTOL — Police made a slew of arrests in connection with two thefts in Bristol over the weekend, including a brazen armed robbery of a Route 116 South convenience store.

In total, police took into custody five people: one on suspicion of committing the armed robbery, the same man and one other on suspicion of breaking into a home, and three others helping plan and carry out the armed robbery.

Ripton man arrested on burglary charge

Pair arrested following Brandon burglary investigation

Thieves target Monkton homes

MONKTON — Vermont State Police are investigating a rash of thefts in the early hours of Jan. 13 that targeted both homes and vehicles across two counties.

Police believe the three burglaries and five larcenies that occurred in the towns of Charlotte and Monkton are related.

Police say evidence links Vergennes man to many home burglaries

SALISBURY — A Vergennes man who was apprehended in Salisbury for outstanding arrest warrants for drug charges in Rutland, is now suspected of being involved in a number of Addison County burglaries.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, at around 5:30 a.m., the Vermont State Police received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle and man on Smead Road in Salisbury. The caller was concerned because the residence had been burglarized in the past.

Addison woman cited in burglary spree

NEW HAVEN — Vermont State Police on Thursday cited Nicole Burgos, 29, of Addison for felony possession of stolen property, a charge they said in a press release “is relative to the wave of 2013 Addison County burglaries that subsequently led to the July 31 arrest of Burgos’ domestic partner, Raymond R. Ritchie.”

New burglary charges brought against Addison man

MIDDLEBURY — The man accused in a string of burglaries committed in Addison County earlier this year faced additional charges this past Wednesday in Vermont Superior Court’s Criminal Division in Middlebury — and was again denied bail.

According to court documents, Raymond Ritchie, 37, of Addison was arraigned Sept. 25 for four more felony counts of burglary, each of which carry a potential life sentence because of his seven prior felony convictions, one from 2005 and six from 2001.

Break-in victims invited to view items recovered by police

NEW HAVEN — Vermont State Police are inviting any Addison County resident who has been the victim of a burglary or theft since 2010 to come to VSP’s Route 7 barracks in New Haven on Oct. 7 to view a cache of stolen property recovered from an Addison home.

Deputy warden's house burglarized

ADDISON — Vermont State Police are investigating the Feb. 15 burglary of a home on Jersey Street in Addison during which the culprit stole a variety of personal property, including items with the State of Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife insignia. Police said the stolen items — a Deputy F&W badge, collar brass and a tie clip —  belong to one of the victims, Deputy Warden Eugene Stearns.

The total value of the stolen property is estimated at $8,000, according to police.
