Christina (MacKenzie) Lambert

 

PANTON — A memorial service for Christina (MacKenzie) Lambert, 97, of Panton, who died June 22, 2011, will be held at the Cornwall Congregational Church on Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 11 a.m.

Nicholas P. Liberio

NEW HAVEN — Nicholas P. Liberio, 60, passed away, Monday, July 25, 2011.

Born June 23, 1951, in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late Nicholas and Anna (D’Elia) Liberio. Nicholas was a graduate of Cranford High School, Cranford, N.J., class of 1969, and Lincoln Technical Institute.

He was the owner of Liberty Construction and was the builder of over 20 quality homes in Addison County. His life was dedicated to and lived for his daughter, Melissa, and her well-being.

James W. Murray

EAST MIDDLEBURY — James W. Murray, 82, died early Friday morning, July 22, 2011, at his home in East Middlebury.

He was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Middlebury, the son of Kenneth and Rena (Whittemore) Murray. He was a graduate of Middlebury High School. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force.

Adam Troy Myers

MIDDLEBURY — Adam Troy Myers of Middlebury died in Roanoke, Ala., on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. He was killed in a car crash while on a vacation trip to visit friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Caitlin, and the sons he adored, Finn, age 4, and Cullen, age 2. Also left to grieve his loss are his parents, David Myers of Roseville, Calif., and Cynthia (Robbins) Myers of Nunnelly, Tenn. He is also survived by three brothers, Sean and his wife Nancy, Michael, and Daniel, and a large extended family.

Cheri O’Brien Rivers

RICHMOND, Va. — Cheri O’Brien Rivers, 64, of Richmond, formerly of Vergennes, Vt., went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 25, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard P. Rivers, and is survived by her daughter, Beth Baldarelli (James); sons Pete Rivers (Laura) and Jason Rivers; brothers Clifton and Patrick O’Brien; and grandchildren Allison, Jakob and Danielle.

Ruby Carolyn Crowe Parent

ORWELL — Ruby Carolyn Crowe Parent, age 80, died peacefully, at her home in Orwell on Wednesday, July 13, 2011.

Mrs. Parent was born in Middlebury on June 8, 1931. She was the daughter of Harold J. and Ethel Sterling (Boardman) Crowe. She was graduated from Middlebury High School, class of 1949.

Following her graduation she moved to Burlington where she worked in a local office. There she met her future husband, Marcel A. Parent. On May 23, 1953, she and Marcel were married in St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Orwell.

Phyllis O. Richardson

MIDDLEBURY — Phyllis O. Richardson, 74, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

She was born March 5, 1937, in Middlebury, the daughter of Leon and Urana (Keese) Otis.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Middlebury. She retired from New England Telephone after 35 years of service.

Predeceased by her husband Robert Richardson.

Marjorie Ellen Barber Russell

SUDBURY — A memorial gathering for Marjorie Ellen Barber Russell, 83, who died June 14, 2011, will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. at the Sudbury Town Hall.

Friends are invited to share memories with the family.

Memorial gifts may be made to The American Parkinson Disease Association, Vermont Chapter, 1 South Prospect St., Burlington, VT 05401.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid obituaries and free notices of passing. Paid obituaries cost 25-cents per word, and $10 per photo. The obituary will publish as it is submitted on the date of the family’s choosing.

For those who do not wish to purchase an obituary, the Addison Independent offers anyone with a local connection the opportunity to publish a notice of passing. These notices may be up to 100 words and are subject to editing by our news department.

Submissions must be received by 11 a.m. on Wednesday for publication in the Thursday paper and 11 a.m. on Friday for Monday’s paper.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN — Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
