Marion G. Gosselin

SHOREHAM — Marion G. Gosselin, 84, of Shoreham died early Friday morning, May 4, 2012 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington after a long illness surrounded by her family.

Friends may call on Wednesday May 9, from 5 to 7 p.m.. at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St. in Middlebury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 10, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Shoreham with the Rev. William Beaudin as celebrant.

Albert W. Wedwaldt

MIDDLEBURY — Albert W. Wedwaldt, 75, a longtime resident of Middlebury, died Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, at St. Mary’s Church in Middlebury with the Rev. William Beaudin, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Thomas F. Allen

RUTLAND — Thomas F. Allen, 70, of Rutland died Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, N.H.

He was born in Middlebury, May 21, 1941, the son of Raymond and Catherine (Whitman) Allen.

He was married to Patricia (Fleming) Allen, who died Feb. 3, 2010.

He attended Middlebury High School and was employed as a carpenter. He later was employed as the supervisor of the maintenance department at the College of St. Joseph.

His family says he enjoyed the Boston Red Sox and fishing.

Martha Jane Weddell Clark

PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Martha Jane Weddell Clark, 97, beloved wife of the late Donald DeWitt Clark, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, peacefully passed away April 25, 2012, in Prescott, Ariz.

Martha was born March 27, 1915, to William and Jane Bell Weddell in Burlington, Vt. She was the youngest of 5 children. She attended Mary Fletcher School of Nursing in Burlington, Vt. Martha was the last surviving member of her generation of family and friends.

Jean Stafford Hayden Guarnaccia

BRISTOL — Jean Stafford Hayden Guarnaccia, 93, died as she lived, gracefully and peacefully on Feb. 28, 2012, at the Roscoe Community Care Home in Bristol. It is unforgettable to have just seen and been with her that afternoon, never more present, happy, smiling, laughing, engaged yet with a faraway look, seeing farther than we can now see … at peace.

Michael Oscar Hermann

PANTON — Michael Oscar Hermann died on Wednesday, April 18, with his devoted family at his side following a brief and valiant struggle with intestinal cancer diagnosed in July of 2011. Michael was a beautiful man, inside and out, and deeply cherished by his family and friends. He lived well and he died with dignity and grace, teaching new lessons about life, love, and compassion. He was a youthful 65 years of age.

Lila E. Ouellette

BRIDPORT — Lila E. Ouellette died unexpectedly Friday, April 27, 2012. She was born April 19, 1937, in Ferrisburgh, the daughter of Joseph and Viola Carpenter Danyow.

She was a member of Eagle Club Auxiliary 3801 in Vergennes, Addison County Board of Realtors, and St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bridport. Her family says she enjoyed traveling, reading, crocheting, attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s dairy cow shows, and collecting antiques.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid obituaries and free notices of passing. Paid obituaries cost 25-cents per word, and $10 per photo. The obituary will publish as it is submitted on the date of the family’s choosing.

For those who do not wish to purchase an obituary, the Addison Independent offers anyone with a local connection the opportunity to publish a notice of passing. These notices may be up to 100 words and are subject to editing by our news department.

Submissions must be received by 11 a.m. on Wednesday for publication in the Thursday paper and 11 a.m. on Friday for Monday’s paper.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN — Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
