ALEXANDER CHARLAMB

MIDDLEBURY — Alexander Charlamb of Middlebury, age 94, died peacefully on Feb. 19, 2014, at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center with his wife, Barbara Charlamb, at his side. He was born Oct. 24, 1919, in New York City. His parents, Rose Charlamb and Samuel Sklarevsky, were Russian immigrants.

GENEVA HOLBROOK

VERGENNES — Geneva Olive Holbrook died peacefully on Sunday March 2nd 2014 with loving family by her side.

She was born 1929 in Freetown MA. Daughter of Joseph B. Cornell and Olive Jenny Pittsley of MA. Geneva was a VT resident since 1960.

She is predeceased by her husband of 50 yrs., Leonard S. Holbrook Sr., brothers Joe, and Charlie, sisters, Em, Mary, and Bea, all of MA, and a great grandchild Cody.

MARY PIERCE

LINCOLN — Mary Catherine Pierce, 84, of Lincoln died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury.

She was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Lincoln, the daughter of Clinton and Madge (Beane) Pierce.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

MIDDLEBURY — Anne Gouverneur Simonds Wesson, 84, died Sunday morning, March 2, 2014, at the Lodge at Otter Creek where she lived for five years. She passed away peacefully and was surrounded by her four children.

RHONDA (DRAGON) WHITEHEAD

BROOKNEAL, Va. — Rhonda (Dragon) Whitehead, 64, of Brookneal, Va., died unexpectedly on Feb. 7, 2014. She had been a longtime resident of Schroon Lake, N.Y.

She was born in Middlebury, Vt., on Feb. 14, 1949, to Ralph and Margaret (Masterson) Dragon.

MIDDLEBURY — David C. Seeley, 90, son of the late Cassius and Eva (Sawyer) Seeley, died in his sleep at his residence in EastView at Middlebury on Feb. 9, 2014.

MARIE FLETCHER

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Marie Sharry Fletcher, 61, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, in Destin, Fla.

She was born in Rutland, Vt., on Aug. 18, 1952. She was the daughter of Adrain and Camilla (Thomas) Fletcher. She grew up in Rutland and Fair Haven where she received her early education.

ADDISON — Erma May LaDue Grant, 98, died with family at her side Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Helen Porter Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury.

She was born June 28, 1915, in Starksboro, the daughter of William and Louisa (Clark) LaDue.

GILMAN LANGILLE

LEICESTER — Gilman Langille, 78, of Leicester died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at his home.

Born Feb. 2, 1936, in Fort Kent, Maine, he was the son of Thomas and Agatha (Cyr) Langille.

He attended schools in Maine prior to moving to Connecticut. He was drafted into the United States Army and served three years. He lived in Danforth, Maine, prior to moving to Leicester in 1994.

He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for various companies, most recently and prior to his retirement, for Champlain Construction Co. of Middlebury.

REGINALD L. ANDREWS SR.

HANCOCK — Reginald L. Andrews Sr., 68, of Hancock, died Monday evening, Feb. 24, 2014, at his daughter’s home in Salisbury.

He was born Sept. 14, 1945, in Randolph; the son of Loren and Wanda (Smith) Andrews. He attended Hancock and Rochester schools, and worked for Weyerhauser in Hancock. He then worked for the Carpenter’s Union, then New England Woodcraft in Forest Dale.

He was married to Barbara Hill in Rochester on Feb. 8, 1964. His family says he enjoyed stock car driving, bear hunting, raising hunting dogs, and riding around.

Submitting an obituary

The Addison Independent publishes paid and free obituaries. Paid obituaries run just as submitted with a charge of $9.00 per column inch, and the editor shapes free obituaries to conform to our editorial style. We run photos of the person if they are submitted in a relatively high-quality format.

Generally, obituaries follow this form:
TOWN - Name, age, of town, died on date, of cause of death. He/She was born on date in town, the son/daughter of father's name and mother's name, including maiden name in parentheses.

Then include a paragraph or two about where the person went to school and what they did for work; where they lived, who they married and when.

Add a sentence or two about what made the person special to family and friends, including hobbies, avocations or other telling details about their life.

He/She is survived by spouse's name; children named individually (and their spouses and towns of residence, if appropriate); siblings named individually; number of grandchildren, parents or other immediate family members.

He/She was predeceased by names of immediate family members.

A memorial service will be held (fill in details of date, time, and place, plus officiate if applicable) with interment at (place). Memorial contributions may be made to (name and complete address, if applicable).
