NORTH FERRISBURGH — Betsy Stocking Cox of North Ferrisburgh died at Fletcher Allen Health Care on Jan. 2, 2009, after a 15-year battle with metastatic breast cancer.
After cremation, her ashes will be scattered to the winds and salt water that she loved so well.
At her request, memorial contributions may be made to the American Bouvier de Flandres Rescue Fund in memory of Kate and Shadow, her two devoted friends. Memorial contributions may be sent to Binns Cox, P.O. Box 21, North Ferrisburgh, VT 05473, for consolidation and forwarding to the rescue league.
MIDDLEBURY — A memorial service will be held for Julia “Judy” Bradley, on Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Middlebury Congregational Church, 27 North Pleasant St. Bradley was a Middlebury resident who died Nov. 28, 2009, at the age of 85.
The service will be at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Andrew Nagy-Benson presiding. All who knew Judy and wish to attend are invited.
BRANDON — Ruth Carr Ryder, 93, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Rutland Health & Rehabilitation Center.
A private graveside committal service and burial will take place at a later date, in the family lot at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon. The Rev. John McDonald, pastor of the Forest Dale Wesleyan Church, will officiate.
There are no public calling hours.

ORWELL — Annette E. McCoy, 92, a longtime resident of Orwell, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Rutland Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
There will be no calling hours.
Private family graveside services will be conducted in the spring at Mountain View Cemetery, Orwell.
Born in Casselman, Ontario, Canada, Dec. 21, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Nelson O. and Albina M. (Noel) Quenneville.
She had lived in Shoreham, Vergennes, Shelburne and Middlebury at various times. She was an assembler for Simmonds Precision and had also been a cook at Middlebury Inn and Chipman Point Inn.
HANCOCK — In loving memory of Sam, born Dec. 11, 1986, a gentle and kind soul, who died peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 3, 2010.
Friends are invited to call Saturday, Jan. 9, from 10-11 a.m. at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury. The funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11 a.m.

BRISTOL — John Arthur Kilbourn Jr. passed away Dec. 29, 2009, at his home, following many months of failing health. He was born June 12, 1927, in Bristol, the son of John and Marguerite (Fitzsimons) Kilbourn.
By John’s request, there will be only a graveside prayer service sometime in the spring for family and friends. If you wish to make a donation in John’s memory, they may be made to the Addison County Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05753, for the loving care they gave to John. They have so many wonderful nurses with kind hearts.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Edward L. Baker, 101, died on Dec. 20, 2009, in Knoxville.
He was born March 28, 1908, in Essex Junction, Vt., the son of Eleanor and Lee Baker. He lived in Essex Junction, where he was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, for most of his life and moved to Tennessee in 2006 to be near his son Ed (Ted) Jr.
He worked for Green Mountain Power Co. for 35 years and for 10 years as tax assessor in Essex, Vt., and he served five years on the Essex selectboard. He also served on the tax appeals board for the state of Vermont.
BRISTOL — Virginia Marinelli Amici passed away quietly at age 98, attended by friends and family in Bristol on Dec. 30, 2009, a crisp winter evening.
Virginia can be remembered with a contribution to any animal shelter or humane society.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Welch, W.V., with Father That Son Van Nguyen as celebrant. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell, W.V.
VERGENNES — Ralph J. Jackman, 85, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, Jan. 6, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol.

He was born on July 4, 1924, a twin son born to Glenn and Ila (Sweet) Jackman in Bristol.
MIDDLEBURY — Hilda N. Spaulding, 90, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Helen Porter Healthcare in Middlebury following a period of failing health.
Friends may call Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at St. Mary’s Church, with the Rev. Brian O’Donnell, parochial vicar, as celebrant. Spring burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Middlebury.
