VUHS seniors walk 13 miles for WomenSafe

VERGENNES — The annual walk for charity made by Vergennes Union High School seniors this past Wednesday netted $7,400 — and counting — toward the Class of 2020’s nonprofit of choice, WomenSafe.

Migrant farmworkers face food insecurity

MIDDLEBURY — Migrant farmworkers in Vermont are more likely to be food insecure than most Vermonters, but the reasons why are not as simple as having too few financial resources.

'Farmacy' prescribes veggies to families


LOCAL FAMILIES ENJOY fresh local produce they received this summer from Farmacy, a food based prescription program for patients suffering from, or at risk of, chronic or nutrition-related illness.

MIDDLEBURY – Addison County’s inaugural food-based prescription program, Farmacy, ran for 12 weeks this summer and provided a bounty of incredibly fresh local produce to 45 patients and families.
