Assault alleged in Salisbury

SALISBURY — A Salisbury man on Tuesday pleaded innocent in Addison Superior Court’s criminal division to four charges — including an alleged felony aggravated domestic assault — in connection with an incident at a Colorado Circle home during the early evening of Jan. 11.
The allegations against John Foshea, 48, also include felony unlawful restraint, felony unlawful mischief and misdemeanor interference with access to emergency services.
Vermont State Police allege that Foshea assaulted a woman, destroyed some of her property, and destroyed her cell phone to prevent her from calling for help.
The state police investigation asserts that Foshea went to the victim’s residence and allegedly kicked, slapped and head-butted her. Authorities — based on interviews with the victim and Foshea — also allege that Foshea destroyed around $2,500 worth of property within the victim’s home, including furniture and a Christmas tree.
Foshea allegedly broke the victim’s phone to prevent her from seeking help and dragged her out of her car when she tried to leave the scene, according to a court affidavit prepared by investigating VSP Trooper Joseph Szarejko.
The victim alleged to police that the events of Jan. 11 were the latest in a four-year history of abuse by Foshea, according to the court affidavit.
Foshea was ordered held without bail at the Marble Valley Correctional Center following his Tuesday arraignment in Addison Superior Court.
