Bobwhites defeat MUHS boys’ tennis

ST. ALBANS — Host BFA-St. Albans on Saturday dealt the Middlebury Union High School boys’ tennis team a 6-1 setback in the opener for both teams.
Earning the point for the Tigers was the No. 1 doubles team of Jon Fitzgerald and Ben Silver, who defeated Logan Mapes and Paul Lowe, 6-1, 6-3.
In other results, in singles, Jake Remillard, B, defeated Bo Tran, M, 6-7, 6-1, 10-3; Thomas Allerton, B, defeated Bob Avery, M, 6-4, 6-2; Daniel Barrows, B, defeated Nick Holmes, M, 6-1, 6-1; William Tenneburger, B, defeated Jerry Staret, M, 4-6, 6-3, 7-6; and Laurent Gagne, B, defeated Owen Hammel, M, 6-4, 6-2
At No. 2 doubles, Jacob Pelkey and Jacob DeBellis, B, defeated Eric Podraza and Raymond Bushey, M, 7-5, 6-2.
