BRISTOL — Bristol police continue to receive complaints about — and issue tickets for — illegal parking on Lincoln Road near Bartlett Falls. Drivers should beware that parking is not allowed in any part of the travel lane. Between Aug. 5 and 11, Bristol police completed six foot patrols and more than five hours of car patrols in various parts of town, some of which were part of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program. BRISTOL — On July 19 Bristol police, assisted by Vermont State Police, responded to a family fight. Joshua Martell, 40, of Bristol and Jennifer Thompson, 37, of Hinesburg were each cited for domestic assault. Martell and Thompson were ordered to answer the charges in Addison Criminal Court on July 22. BRISTOL — On July 11, acting on a report that a vehicle had been “all over the road” on Route 116 North, Bristol police conducted a traffic stop on West Street. Police determined that the driver of that vehicle was not impaired. Between July 8 and 14, Bristol police completed eight foot patrols and 85 minutes of car patrols in various parts of town, some of which were part of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program. BRISTOL — On July 5 Bristol police, along with Vermont State Police, Vergennes police, the Chittenden County Sheriff’s Department and the Addison County Sheriff’s Department, conducted a sobriety checkpoint in the eastern part of Bristol.  Officers spoke to 626 vehicle operators but made no DUI arrests.  Between June 10 and July 7 Bristol police completed 33 foot patrols, more than 26 hours of car patrols in various parts of town, some of which were part of the Governor’s Highway Safety P r o g r a m .
