BRISTOL — On a recent Wednesday night, Paul Carlile of Burlington sat in his blue whitewater kayak in the swimming pool at Mount Abraham Union High School, nose plugs engaged and ready to demonstrate the perfect roll. MIDDLEBURY — Homeward Bound, Addison County’s Humane Society, has announced the dates of their 2020 Open Door Microchip and Nail Trim Clinics. The clinics will be offered on Saturdays, Feb. 15, April 11, June 20, Aug. 24 and Dec.12, from 10 a.m. to noon.  A microchip is a small electronic chip (about the size of a piece of rice) that is inserted under the skin between a pet’s shoulder blades that contains all of the owner’s contact information. MIDDLEBURY — Porter Pediatric Primary Care and Middlebury Union High School have teamed up to launch a new health center that will serve students in a school setting. The new clinic — which will be open for around four hours on Thursdays, beginning Dec. 5 — will dispense care that currently can’t be offered by the school nurse and would thus require a student to leave campus for treatment at Porter or through their family physician. MIDDLEBURY — Teenage girls interested in learning more about the game of Ultimate, played with tossed discs, are invited to an afternoon clinic on Sunday, Oct. 20, that will be run by Middlebury Union High School Ultimate Coach and teacher Michelle Steele.
