STARKSBORO — A Hinesburg man will answer to charges of driving under the influence of drugs in connection with a collision between his truck and an ATV on Route 116 in Starksboro that resulted in the deaths of two people Friday night. Vermont State Police said 20-year-old Bayly LaRock was driving a 2016 Chevrolet truck north on Route 116 at around 10:18 p.m. when he collided with an ATV that had just pulled onto the road from Freedom Acres. MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police on Thursday were looking for a driver who fled the scene of a collision with a tractor-trailer (without the trailer) on Route 7 South, near Denecker Chevrolet, on Wednesday evening, July 29. Police have already established that the unknown driver was at fault in the crash based on video evidence taken from the truck. SALISBURY — A 72-year-old woman was killed Saturday afternoon when the car she was a passenger in was involved in a two-car crash on Route 7 in Salisbury. Joan Dayton, 72, of Londonderry was declared deceased at Porter Hospital that afternoon. CORNWALL — Vermont State Police are investigating a fatal, one-vehicle crash in which a Middlebury man is believed to have deliberately driven into the Otter Creek near the temporary bridge that connects Swamp Road in Salisbury and Creek Road in Cornwall during the early afternoon of Tuesday. BRIDPORT — A Stockbridge man is recovering from serious injuries after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a farm tractor on Route 125 in Bridport on Sunday, Aug. 4. ADDISON COUNTY — On the morning of July 4 Vermont State Police responded to a report of a motorcycle hitting a deer on Lincoln Road in Ripton. Police report that sometime before 11:20 a.m. this past Thursday, Robert Wesley, 54, of Ripton was driving a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Lincoln Road when a deer entered the roadway.
