Middlebury Police Log: Beaver not talking

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police investigated a report of a suspected burglary at a Frog Hollow Alley business on April 6.
Police found the business door damaged. But officers ultimately determined the culprit was a beaver who had simply been chewing on the wooden doorframe, causing the damage.
Police jokingly included the following line in the week’s crime blotter: “Police attempts to interview the beaver for unlawful mischief were unsuccessful.”
