Vermont State Police Log: Leicester woman gets citations

ADDISON COUNTY — Vermont State Police responded to a report of a family fight in the Hooker Road area of Leicester on Saturday, July 31, at around 6:30 p.m. Through investigation troopers determined Alexis Betourney, 30, of Leicester had caused bodily harm to a family member.

Police arrested Betourney and took her to the New Haven barracks for processing. While en-route troopers attempted to adjust Betourney’s restraints and they said she subsequently resisted arrest and escaped the police car. After a brief struggle, Betourney was placed back into the cruiser.

Police cited Betourney for second degree aggravated domestic assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and unlawful mischief, and lodged her at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility with bail set at $2,500.

Separately, state police received the report of trespassing at a Silver Street home in Monkton on Aug. 3 at 6:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, troopers said they discovered that Robert LaRock Jr., 62, of Monkton had assaulted Ashley White, 23, of Monkton outside a Monkton residence. Further investigation showed that LaRock caused damage to property, police report.

Police arrested LaRock, cited him for simple assault and unlawful mischief, and released him.

Upon his release, LaRock discovered someone had forced entry into his Monkton home with the intent to commit petit larceny while he was under arrest at the New Haven state police barracks.

Troopers interviewed all subjects on the scene. Police said that Jessica Baker, 39, of Hinesburg provided information about the burglary of LaRock’s residence. The information Baker provided led to a search warrant that, when executed, led troopers to discover that Baker lied in an attempt to implicate another and deflect the investigation.

They cited Baker for giving a false report to law enforcement and violation of conditions of release.

In other recent activity, state police:

•  On July 23 cited Megan Jackman, 43, of Addison for driving with a criminally suspended license on Route 22A in Bridport.

•  On Aug. 1 at approximately 10 minutes to 6 a.m. were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at a Waltham home. Police report that Thomas Hunt, 38, of Vergennes had driven into a cow pasture, drove around the pasture attempting to get out, and caused damage to the fences in the process. He apparently left the vehicle when it was struck on a hill.

The vehicle was towed, and police determined that Hunt was the driver in question. They cited Hunt for leaving the scene of an accident.
