MIDDLEBURY — Lisa Gosselin, currently the Commissioner of Economic Development for the state of Vermont, will be leaving her post in April to join Addison Press Inc., the award-winning publisher of several of Vermont’s regional newspapers, magazines, websites and digital apps.
“Lisa brings a wealth of national media experience to our group and the vision to help us grow in new directions,” says Angelo Lynn, president and publisher of Addison Press. “I’m thrilled she is joining the family business and will work with us to grow and diversify our multi-media businesses, including ways we can help area businesses better understand and use digital media to prosper and grow their businesses.”
The Addison Press publishes the Addison County Independent, Brandon Reporter, Vermont Sports magazine, Vermont Ski & Ride Magazine, Freedom Publications little phone books in central and southern Vermont, and has another LLC that publishes the Mountain Times in Killington. Angelo Lynn and his brother Emerson also co-own the Essex Reporter and Colchester Sun in Chittenden County.
Prior to her appointment as Commissioner in September 2013, Gosselin served as editorial director of EatingWell Media Group and over seven years helped to grow the Charlotte/Shelburne-based business from a 200,000 circulation magazine into a multimedia property with the flagship magazine reaching 750,000 paid subscribers and a website of more than 5 million unique visits. The company was sold to the Meredith Corporation in 2011.
Gosselin has also served as editor in chief of national consumer magazines, including Islands, Audubon and Bicycling, and as executive editor of SKI Magazine. Her writing has appeared in Men’s Journal, Town & Country, ESPN, Yachting, Forbes, Newsweek and other publications. She has also been a senior brand manager at Kelliher Samets Volk, the Burlington-based branding agency.
“It was a real privilege to serve a term under Governor Shumlin and to have the opportunity to work on the state’s first Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, to bolster the EB-5 program and help launch the Great Jobs in Vermont campaign,” said Gosselin. “But I am also excited by entrepreneurship and the chance to join this community-based business at a time when local media is stronger than ever and has a chance to diversify and grow.”
Gosselin is married to Angelo Lynn, whose three daughters, also work in the business.
Addison Press is publisher of the award-winning bi-weekly newspapers and websites, digital apps, phone books and special publications. Angelo Lynn’s eldest daughter, Polly, runs Killington’s Mountain Times with her partner Jason Mikula. Her sisters Christy Lynn and Elsie Lynn Parini also work for the family business, which employs more than 45 people in offices around the state and reaches 100,000 readers each week.
