MIDDLEBURY — Two recent champions added titles this past Saturday at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course’s 2019 Women’s Club Championships. Middlebury College senior Chloe Levins, a Rutland native, was the Low Gross winner; she had won the collegiate George Phinney Classic on Ralph Myhre back on Sept. 29. PITTSFORD — Otter Valley Union High School junior Mia Politano fired an 84 on Tuesday at the Proctor-Pittsford Country Club to become the Division II girls’ medalist for the second straight year. Her total was four strokes clear of the second-place finisher in D-II, Lake Region’s Tia Martinez, and five strokes better than the D-I medalist, Rutland’s Jillian Miles. MIDDLEBURY — The team of Ashley Cadwell, Cathy Sessions, Dick Crumb and Jon Sessions capped a busy five-day stretch at Ralph Myhre Golf Course by winning a Sunday tournament held to benefit the Otter Valley Union High School softball program. That foursome topped the second-place team of Colleen Ringquist, Danielle Tomasi, Kristen Johnson and Lisa King. MIDDLEBURY — Ralph Myhre Golf Course this past weekend was the site of the George Phinney Golf Classic, which was won by the host Middlebury College women’s team. The Panthers carded a 634 to win by six strokes over second-place Amherst. Panther senior Chloe Levins took home tournament medalist honors for the third time in four years, winning the title in a playoff. Levins shot 153, tying her with Morgan Yurosek of Amherst. MIDDLEBURY — Ralph Myhre Golf Course this past weekend hosted Middlebury College’s annual Duke Nelson Tournament, at which Panther senior Jeffrey Giguere claimed medalist honors with a two-day total of a par 142 (70-72).  New York University claimed the team title with a score of 589, edging Williams (590) and the Panthers (592).   Giguere topped the field of 118 golfers with a score of 142, edging Williams’ Will Kannegieser by a stroke.  Also for Middlebury Phin Choukas and Jordan Bessalel finished in a tie for 15th place at 148. Hogan Beazley was the Gross Score Championship Flight Winner, and Joe Bartlett was the Gross Score Senior Flight Winner.  Don Kenney and Jim Johnston tied as the Net Score Championship Winners. MIDDLEBURY — This past weekend Team Ralph Myhre Golf Course edged its counterpart from Basin Harbor to claim the 2019 Addison Cup in the Annual Club Challenge. The final score in matches played on Saturday and Sunday was Ralph Myhre 9.5, Basin Harbor 6.5. MIDDLEBURY — Rutland resident and Middlebury College women’s golf team captain Chloe Levins last week won the Vermont State Women’s Golf Association’s Amateur Championship at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in Middlebury.  Levins, whose home course is the Rutland Country Club, led from start to finish by shooting 74-74-77 from Tuesday to Thursday for a total of 225, good for an eight-stroke win over defending champion Tiffany Maurycy of Killington.
