Holiday exhibit on view at Jackson Gallery

'TWO CONTINENTS,' BY Patricia LeBon Herb

MIDDLEBURY — The Jackson Gallery will be filled with original, handmade and hand-printed art and fine crafts beginning Nov. 15. This 12th annual holiday exhibition features 25 regional artists whose work represents a wide variety of media and styles. All have been recognized for their individual approaches to design and image.
An opening reception will be held Friday, Nov. 15, from 5-7 p.m.
Judy Albright brings her beautiful pastel drawings and Ray Hudson returns with his multi-layered woodblock prints. Patricia LeBon Herb will show paintings that reflect her thoughtful approach to image design. Catherine M. Palmer creates meticulously drawn images with colored pencil. Hope Johnson will display her expertly crafted “bee” quilts along with Deanna Shapiro’s fanciful fabric collages.
Their works will join paintings and drawings by artists Sarah Ashe, Gayl Braisted, Carol Calhoun, Klara Calitri, Jennifer Cole, Lyn DuMoulin, Linda Francis, Lily Hinrichsen, Mimi Love, Molly Hawley, Peter Langrock, Mike Mayone, Gabrielle McDermit, Barbara Nelson, Sarah Wesson, Karla Van Vliet, Yinglei Zhang and others.
This holiday season show has become a tradition at the Jackson Gallery and features unique and affordable works available for purchase. The exhibit will continue through Dec. 31.
The Jackson Gallery is located in the lower level of Town Hall Theater, a community and cultural venue located in the center of Middlebury. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday 12-5 p.m., and an hour before any public events in the building. For more info call (802) 382-9222 or visit townhalltheater.org.
