SALISBURY — Vermont State Police on Thursday provided the name of the man whose body was found dead in Salisbury on Tuesday morning.
The body of 34-year-old Nicholas Louras of Rutland was found off Route 53/Lake Dunmore Road in Salisbury on the morning of Oct. 8.
Vermont’s Chief Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy on Wednesday, which state police said enabled them to positively identify Nicholas Louras. They said someone shot him to death with a gun.

SALISBURY — The dead body of a man was found off Route 53/Lake Dunmore Road in Salisbury on Tuesday, and Vermont State Police said they are looking to see if it is related to an officer-involved shooting in Rutland Tuesday morning.
State police are investigating the Salisbury death as a possible homicide, along with potential links to the subsequent shooting at the Rutland Police Department and the events that transpired afterward in a parking lot off Evelyn Street near the railroad tracks downtown.

MONKTON — Vermont State Police on Friday executed a search warrant at the former Monkton home of a man who was shot and killed last month in Hinesburg, according to a report by WCAX-TV.
The home on Cattail Lane is listed as the property of David Auclair — who was shot to death in Hinesburg on July 11 — and Angela Auclair, his estranged or possibly former wife. The couple purchased the home in 2004.
