MIDDLEBURY — Meet local author Jeremy Holt for an in-person signing of his latest graphic novel “Before Houdini,” on Friday, Aug. 9, from 5-7 p.m., during the Jackson Gallery’s opening reception of Holt’s exhibit “The Making of a Graphic Novel.” This one-of-a-kind exhibit will showcase the creative process behind how a comic book page gets made. MIDDLEBURY — Comics are for kids. They should be light-hearted, fun and simple. Um, nope.
