Lincoln news for May 23
LINCOLN — Lincoln Sports is once again hosting summer camp for area children entering grades 1 through 8. This is a fun way for the kids to connect with old friends and make new ones outside of school. Camp is centered around the ball field in Lincoln but day trips to other locations happen as well. Activities include crafts, games, swimming, hiking and more. Registration forms can be found on the Lincoln Sports website, at the Lincoln Community School, the General Store and the Town Office. Scholarships are available — applications for scholarships are due by Saturday, June 1.
There will be a FREE hazardous waste collection event hosted by Addison County Solid Waste Management District on Saturday, June 1 from 8 a.m. to noon at the new Starksboro Town Garage. Accepted items include pesticides, gasoline, motor oil, paint, cleaning products, automotive and pool chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs and batteries. This event is for household waste only. Business waste will not be accepted. Motor oil is limited to 10 gallons per household. This event is open to Lincoln residents.
In observance of Memorial Day, the town offices, library and schools will be closed on Monday, May 27.

The Lincoln Fire Department will be hosting their annual Father’s Day chicken BBQ on Sunday, June 16, starting around 11:30 a.m. Adults are $10 and kids and half sizes are $7. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.
