Thank you, Angelo, for your recent editorial regarding the need to vote by mail in the November general election. In this time of a global pandemic, when public health is at risk, voting by mail is the safest way to conduct elections. It is baffling, therefore, why Gov. In light of COVID-19, social distancing and the upcoming primaries in August, and the General Election in November, Vermont’s Sec. of State James Condos has been mulling the possibility of expanding voting by mail for the past several weeks. To that end, the Legislature gave Sec. Condos the power to craft changes in election law to allow more voting by mail with the stipulation that any plan be approved by the governor.
