WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — The Vergennes Champs and Middlebury Marlins capped their enjoyable summer swim team seasons in style this past weekend at Vermont Swim Association Championship meet, which was held at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction.

MIDDLEBURY — Addison County residents were recognized for their excellence both in and out of the pool this past Friday and Saturday, July 26 and 27, in the Champlain Valley Swim League Championships. Eight teams, totaling 510 athletes, traveled from as far away as St. Albans to compete at the Middlebury Town Pool.
The Vergennes Swim Team, known as the Champs, took 4th place overall, and the Middlebury Marlins finished 7th.

MIDDLEBURY — The larger St. Albans Sharks team topped the host Middlebury Marlins, 254.5-202.5, on Thursday, July 18, as the Champlain Valley Swim League regular season wrapped up.

MIDDLEBURY — Tuesday’s scoresheets show the visiting Vergennes Champs defeated the Middlebury Marlins, 275-203, in the annual duel between the friendly Champlain Valley Swim League rivals.
Many swimmers had big days. Under-10 Champs swimmer Will Clark won another three races, as did U-8 Marlin Aurora Foley, U-14 Marlin Aiden Chance and U-18 Marlin Oliver Poduschnick.
Three Champs won two races apiece: Grey Fearon, Gavin Conrad and Jordan Jewell. Three Marlins joined them as double winners: Constantin Bellman, Ava Schneider and Natalie Rockwell.

MIDDLEBURY — Visiting Burlington Tennis Club on Tuesday topped the Middlebury Marlins, 248-202, in a competitive Champlain Valley Swim League Meet.
The Marlins came up short despite two victories apiece from Mitzi Poduschnick, Aurora Foley, Sadie Chance, Ava Schneider, Natalie Rockwell and Constantin Bellman.
Middlebury is set to visit Winooski this Thursday before hosting friendly county rival Vergennes this coming Tuesday.

ESSEX — The host Town of Essex Swim Team outpaced the visiting Middlebury Marlins on July 2, dominating the relays against a Marlins team that competed with only about two-dozen swimmers at the Champlain Valley Swim League meet.
Highlighting the evening for Middlebury were three wins by U-8 swimmer Constantin Bellman, two victories apiece by U-8 swimmers Mitzi Poduschnick and Aurora Foley, and a pair of first-places from U-18 swimmer Holly Staats.
The Marlins return to action this week with meets at home on Tuesday vs. Burlington Tennis Club and away at Winooski on Thursday.

MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury Marlins swim team opened its season last week with sunny, warm weather and a pair of setbacks to Champlain Valley Swim League powers, 293-152 to host Burlington Country Club on June 25 and 289-177 to visiting defending champion Edge on Thursday.
The Marlins will visit Essex this Tuesday before hosting Burlington Tennis Club on July 9.
