MAUHS board still seeking new members

BRISTOL — Addison Northeast Supervisory Union officials are alerting residents of Bristol, New Haven and Starksboro that there are openings on the Mount Abraham Union High School Board for members from each of those three towns.
Current school members of the local school boards in each own would like candidates interested in filling these spots to step forward by end of day Monday, April 17, so they could fill those openings on Tuesday.
The openings in the MAUHS board comes as ANeSU is transitioning to the Addison Northeast School District, which will consolidate governance of the six district schools under one board.
It is the responsibility of each town school board to appoint a qualified person(s) to fill a MAUHS board vacancy until an election at a special or annual town meeting.
The MAUHS board is seeking two Bristol residents, one New Haven resident and one Starksboro resident interested in serving on the 13-member school board.
Interested residents of these three communities are invited to submit a letter of interest to serve as a board member by Monday, April 17. The board will meet with interested individuals on Tuesday, April 18, at 6:15 p.m. at their next regular board meeting at Mount Abe, and will appoint the new member at that time.
Email submissions to: [email protected] or drop them off at the ANeSU offices at 72 Munsill Avenue, Suite 601, in Bristol.
