City Lions Club adding members

VERGENNES — The Vergennes Lions Club initiated six new Lions in February as part of its membership growth program.
Lion President Kathy Dorman said, “bringing in new members brings new ideas for helping our communities and extra hands for doing the many projects and fund raisers we are already involved with.”

The new members are Brian Gebo, Janet Halpin, Peter Halpin, Beth Kirby, Paula Mathewson and Tim Mathewson.
District Governor Ken Emery was in attendance to assist with the initiation and congratulated the club for its efforts to keep membership strong.

Emery also handed out recognitions to Mark Delisle and Carol Mapel for their accomplishments in the community, and service awards to Charter Member Bob Barrows (65 years), Larry Simino (55 years), Harry Curth (15 years), and Debbie Brace, Kathy Dorman and DiAnne Scott (each 10 years).
The club also handed out a number of donations to local nonprofits, including John Graham Shelter, Addison County Community Trust, fuel assistance and others.
Anyone interested in joining the club may contact Larry Simino, membership chairman, at lcsimino@ gmavt.net or 759-2448.
