County COVID cases remain minimal
ADDISON COUNTY — The Vermont Department of Health (DOH) today, Wednesday, July 14, is reporting Addison County has registered one new case of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, and a total of five during the past two weeks. The county has recorded a total of 1,071 confirmed cases since the pandemic began more than 16 months ago.
The state of Vermont has vaccinated more than 80% of its citizens who are eligible (ages 12 and up) to receive the COVID-19 shot. As of Wednesday, 458,954 people had received at least one dose of the vaccine. Here in Addison County, 81.7% of the eligible population has been vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the state of Vermont on Wednesday reported 19 new COVID cases during the past 24 hours, for a total of 24,516. Over the past two weeks, 104 new COVID-19 cases were reported. On Wednesday, four people were hospitalized in Vermont for COVID-19, with one patient in intensive care.
State officials reported 258 Vermonters have died thus far from COVID-19, while 24,117 Vermonters have thus far recovered from the virus.
