Local students awarded firefighter scholarships

ADDISON COUNTY — The Addison County Firefighters Association Scholarship Committee has selected Karissa Peltier, Elizabeth Porter and McKenna White to receive scholarships awarded to Addison County students. The scholarships are in the amount of $1,000 each.
Peltier is the daughter of James Peltier of Libson, N.H. Karissa is a Middlebury firefighter and is attending Granite State College online, seeking a degree in Elementary Education/ Special Education.
Porter is the daughter of Anthony and Starr Porter of Starksboro. She is graduating from Mount Abraham Union High School and will attend Community College of Vermont. 

White is the daughter of Steve and Cody White of Whiting. She is graduating from Otter Valley Union High School and will be attending college majoring in History.
