Monkton news for Jul. 23
You can reserve books online from the Russell Memorial Library by e-mailing email@example.com or call 453-4471 to let the librarians know your preference. You can look at the website catalog in order to see what is available or just show up during pick-up hours and tell them what you would like. Pick up hours for books are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays and 9 a.m. until noon on Saturdays. Take a break and read a book! You can travel any place you want to with a good book.
You can “Become a Magician” with Tom Verner. Children and adults who wish to participate can call or e-mail the library to get the link and to view 14 different sessions with Tom. The library hopes to host a magic show in the fall with some new emerging talents. Call 453-4471 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Please stay safe and have fun.
Did you know that there is a Little Free Pantry at the Monkton Friends Methodist Church in the Ridge? The concept of the pantry is to ‘give what you can, take what you need.” With gardening season here, the pantry is experimenting with a garden produce day. This will be held on Sundays only from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you have extra garden produce, drop it off on the porch of the church on Sunday and if there is something you can use, you are welcome to pick it up. Do not leave any produce through the week as there is no way to keep it fresh; Sundays only please. Any leftover produce will be composted on Sunday evening to avoid critters visiting.
Note: Church services will run from approximately 9 to 10 a.m. when in-person services begin again. Unless you are attending the service, please wait until 10:30 to drop produce off. Hopefully, the church services will reconvene beginning July 26 with distancing and COVID-19 safety protocols required. All are welcome. For questions, call Teri at 453-4918.
