BERNARD PAUL BOUDREAU

BRIDPORT — Edward O. Boudreau 85, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 3, 2020, surrounded by his loved ones, at the University of  Vermont Medical Center after a brief illness
He was born April 6, 1934, in Holyoke, Mass., the son of Joseph and Margaret (Melancon) Boudreau.
Eddy served in the Navy from 1953-1957 in the Korean Era sailing the Mediterranean.
He married Monique L. Plouffe on April 12, 1958.
Eddy was employed for many years as a machinist with Standard Register in Middlebury, retiring in 1996.
He enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing horseshoes, golfing with Corey Pratt and entering in the Super Bowl and NASCAR pools.
Edward is survived by his children Michael Boudreau of Naples, Fla., Joanne Doorey (Stephen) of Milton, Kenneth Boudreau of Vermont and Lisa Campbell (Ron) of Milton; his siblings, Donald Boudreau (Jacqueline) of South Hadley, Mass., and Lorraine Evans (Lowell) of Chicopee, Mass.; his grandchildren Nicole O’Sullivan, Michael Boudreau II, Sarah Newton, Alexis Boudreau and Raymond Merola III; and his great-grandchildren Brinley Boudreau, Hayden Boudreau, Liam O’Sullivan, Declan O’Sullivan and Leighton O’Sullivan.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Rita Caputo and by his wife Monique Boudreau on October 19, 2012.
We would like to extend special thanks to Richard Shimel, Katie King and their daughter Isabella for always lending a helping hand when needed and brightening Eddy’s day with a friendly smile, and to Tony Korda and family for checking on Eddy any time he had a request, whether it was medical or personal.
And last but not least, thanks to Corey Pratt and all the kind people at Pratt’s Store, who were always willing to step in and offered to deliver groceries, do a “well check” and just provided a lasting friendship to our Dad. (And Corey, he definitely enjoyed coming and collecting his winnings from you) It meant so much to him.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home. Online condolences at sandersonfuneralservice.com.◊
