NEW HAVEN — Ella May Jackson, 88, of New Haven, Vt., passed into eternity on Dec. 2, 2020.
One of seven children, Ella spent her youth living in northern Maine, and Rhode Island, and her adult years in Connecticut and Vermont. She married the love of her life, Joseph Jackson Sr., in 1953. Together they raised two wonderful children JoAnn Brewer and Joseph Jackson III, and has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers and a sister, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many dear friends.

LEICESTER — Russell Glen Mason, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Mr. Mason was born in Elizabethtown, N.Y., on July 16, 1955. He was the son of James and Arlene (Jones) Mason. He grew up on the family farm on Reber Road, in Willsboro, N.Y., where he received his early education, and was a member of the Willsboro, N.Y., high school class of 1973.

FERRISBURGH — Robert “Bob” Mitchell, 86, of Ferrisburgh, passed away peacefully on Sept. 14, 2020.
He was born in Burlington, Vt., on September 16, 1933, to Elsie Babson Mitchell and Neil Mitchell, and grew up in Vergennes. In 1954, after serving in the U.S. Navy, he married Ellie Root, of Charlotte, raising their family in Ferrisburgh. Bob worked at Simmonds Precision for 35 years, taught NRA hunter safety classes, and was a local historian. With a true passion for this area, he passed on his spark for learning to many. He had many wild adventures as an avid hunter and fisherman.

LINCOLN — Beloved pastor, father, grandfather, and friend Walter Ransom “Randy” Rice Jr. passed away peacefully on Dec. 4, at Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury, Vt.
Randy was born in Niagara Falls, New York, in 1932 to Walter Ransom Rice and Leah Viola Proudfoot Rice. He attended Niagara Falls High School and was known as a top-level golfer and badminton player. STARKSBORO — David K. Heath Sr., 63, died early Thursday morning, Dec. 3, 2020, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 27, 1957, in Burlington, the son of Floyd C. Heath Sr. and Beatrice M. (Tuttle) Heath.
David was a dairy farming hand working for the Clifford Family Farm. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, mowing his lawn, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid Yankees fan.

LINCOLN – Nancy Warner Benz, age 86, passed away peacefully at EastView in Middlebury on Nov. 17, 2020. She will be dearly missed by her large family and many friends.
Nancy Elaine Warner was born in Waterbury, Conn., on May 8, 1934, and was raised by her loving parents, Harriet and Oscar Warner in nearby Woodbury, Conn., along with her two younger sisters. F. RICHARD “DICK” CRAMTON
MIDDLEBURY — Dick Cramton, 88, of Middlebury and Burlington, passed away at Porter Health and Rehabilitation on Dec. 4, 2020, after a fall from which he could not recover. Many thanks to the staff of Porter who were kind and caring to him and our family.
Dick grew up in Jenkintown, Pa. He was captain of the football team, played trumpet, and was valedictorian of his high school class. He graduated from Lehigh University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Afterward, he married his first love (Nan), whom he met working summers during college as a camp counselor in the Pocono Mountains.

RUTLAND TOWN — Kevin M. D’Avignon, loving father and son, died on Nov. 30, 2020, after a life-long battle with addiction that he was sadly unable to overcome.
Born in Middlebury on April 27, 1961, he was the son of the late Clement M. D’Avignon and Margaret J. (Malloy) D’Avignon.
He was a long-time resident of Addison County, attended local schools, and honorably served for many years as a Police Officer for the Miami Beach Police Department and Deputy for the Addison County Sheriff’s Department.
