She was born Sept. 25, 1974, in Middlebury and graduated from Vergennes Union High School in 1995. Crysta Lee was an L.N.A. and worked for Helen Porter Nursing Home for a few years then went to Wake Robin. She was kind, loving and giving to many. MIDDLEBURY — Karen Glauber, beloved wife, skillful speech pathologist, poet, Tai Chi teacher, Elephant Ambassador, Environmental and Animal rights activist, Homeward Bound Volunteer and kind, devoted friend to so many passed from this world on May 13, 2019. (Gordon) Anstett of Connecticut and Jackson L. Gray of New York, who are both deceased. Lisa worked at O.Z. MONKTON — Veronica (Labell) Jerome, known as “Von,” left us at age 85 in the early morning hours of August 16, 2019. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and friend to many. Heaven got another beautiful angel. In 1953 she married her husband Richard “Dick” Jerome, who predeceased her two months after their 60th wedding anniversary. Together they raised five children. BRANDON — The funeral service for Steven Curtis Mitchell, age 66, who died July 23, 2019, was held on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Lifebridge Christian Church in Brandon. The Rev. VERGENNES — Janet Lucia (Roberts) Price, 89, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Ringer’s Home Care in Vergennes on Aug. 16, 2019. She was born on June 2, 1930, in Barnard, Vermont, the only child of Linwood Belknap Roberts and Lena (Blood) Roberts. She grew up in Barnard and graduated from Whitcomb High School in Bethel in 1949 as class valedictorian. ADDISON — Neil D. Metcalf, who died July 24, 2019, will have a military burial service on Aug. 22, at 1 p.m., at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 487 Furnace Road in Randolph Center. There will be a motorcycle procession starting from the Vergennes Park and Ride at 10:30 a.m. that will proceed to the cemetery. VERGENNES — Roger William Hayes, 75 of Vergennes, died peacefully on Aug. 10, 2019, at the McClure-Miller VNA Respite House in Colchester, with family. Roger was born on Dec. 14, 1943, during a big winter snowstorm in Burlington, to William Alfred Hayes and Andree‘ Beaudin Hayes during WWII and did not get to meet his Dad until he was three years old. RUTLAND — Patrick J. Prior, 60, formerly of Middlebury, died unexpectedly at his residence in Rutland. He was born Sept. 26, 1958, in Park Forest, Ill., the son of Robert and Nancy (Hayes) Prior. Patrick was a graduate of Middlebury Union High School class of 1977. He enlisted with the United States Army and served for four years and was honorably discharged. WEYBRIDGE — Marie J. Whealton, 83, of Weybridge, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at Helen Porter Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury. Marie was born Aug. 12, 1935, and lived in Baltimore, Md., for most of her life. In 2004, after the passing of Warren, her husband of 46 years, Marie moved to Weybridge. While in Baltimore Marie was very active and a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 148 in Essex, Md., and she worked the kitchen for every event. She loved to cook, bake and sew.
