VERGENNES — Barbara Elizabeth (Ainsworth) Call died in Vergennes, Vt., on December 19, 2019, at the age of 90 following a slow dementia-related decline. She was born in Greenfield, Mass., on March 12, 1929, to Charles and Lucie Ainsworth. She was raised in Colrain along with her older brother, Raymond, and graduated from Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls. She married Frederick Roger Call on October 7, 1951, and they remained married until his passing in 2005. MIDDLEBURY — Millicent “Millie” Ruth Coursey of Middlebury in Addison County, VT, passed away December 23, 2019, at the age of 92, at the home of her daughter in Nebo, MacDowell County, NC, with loved ones at her side. She was born on May 6, 1927, in Benson, VT, the daughter of Howard Chandler and Thelma (Goyette) Chandler. She was the oldest of thirteen children. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth L. SALISBURY — Louise D. Ellwood, 94, died on Jan. 9, 2020, at home in Salisbury with her family at the bedside. The family wants to thank all the caring professionals at Elderly Services, Project Independence, Addison County Home Health and Hospice and the hospice volunteers at End of Life Services for their help and support. Their support and guidance allowed Louise to stay at home through the end of life.

SALISBURY — Douglas W. Goodrich, son of Wilbur and Hazel (Douglas) Goodrich, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Shard Villa in Salisbury within one week of his 98th birthday. He was born on the family farm a half mile south of there, and lived in Salisbury most of his life.  He graduated from Middlebury High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a flight mechanic during World War II. CASTLETON — Jeanette Corinne Burke Hughes passed away at sunset on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Rutland Regional Medical Center surrounded by loving family, one year after her cancer diagnosis. Jeanette was born in Rutland on June 3, 1933, to Thomas Edward Burke and Eda Corinne (Lefrançois) Burke of Rutland.
