LESTER “LES” W. BURLESON JR.
BENSON — Lester “Les” W. Burleson Jr., 89 years young, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2020. Les was born March 25, 1930 in Middletown, Conn., to Lester and Myrtle (Dunkleberger) Burleson. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School where he met his future wife, Jan MacLaren, who survives him. They were married for 68 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. They moved to Benson, Vt., in 1958 to farm. He has had numerous jobs throughout his life, but was most happy building and working with his hands. NEW HAVEN — Raymond W. Daniels, 77, passed away Friday Jan. 3, 2020, at Helen Porter Rehabilitation and Nursing. He was born Aug. 21, 1942, in Middlebury, the son of Ladd W. and Dorothy (Holcomb) Daniels. Ray was a graduate of Beeman Academy class of 1960. After graduation he enlisted with the Unites States Air Force. BRISTOL — Irene Mae Lawrence, 87 of Bristol, died at 3 a.m. on Jan. 4, 2020, at Porter Hospital. She was born Sept. 7, 1932, in Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard, Mass. to Jose (Joseph) H.F. Santos and Caroline F. Burgess Santos. Irene grew up on Martha’s Vineyard until she became of age. After leaving the island she moved to New Bedford, Mass., and started her  family. She had five children. Irene lived on Cape Cod until her family relocated to Vermont. She was a longtime resident of Bristol, Vt. MIDDLEBURY — Kirsten McEdward passed away peacefully in her home in Middlebury, Vt., on Tuesday, Dec. 3, surrounded by her family. She was 80 years old. Kirsten was born in Sonder Omme, Denmark, on Aug 9, 1939. Sonder Omme is a beautiful little Danish town in Jutland, not far from the North Sea. In October of 1960, Kirsten was living in Copenhagen completing a four-year pharmacy degree. MIDDLEBURY — Frank Edwards Punderson Jr., 86, died peacefully on Jan. 3, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his immediate family. Frank was born in 1933 in Springfield, Mass., the youngest of three children, to Beulah Boden and Frank E. Punderson. He attended Deerfield Academy and graduated from Middlebury College in 1955.
