Joe was born in Middlebury on Nov. 10, 1951, and was a lifelong resident of Addison County. BRIDPORT — Shirley M. Plouffe, 80, of Bridport, passed peacefully into the arms of her savior, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday morning, Aug. 25, 2019. She was born on Feb. 19, 1939, in Sudbury, Vt., to Leo and Yvette (Larocque) Desforges. She grew up on the family farm and was a fashionista who caught the eye of an equally sharp dresser, Aldee Plouffe. They were married on June 6, 1959. ORWELL — Richard Kimball Eitelman, 90, of Orwell died Saturday evening, August 24, 2019, at his residence. He was born on March 7, 1929, in Schenectady, N.Y., the son of Kenneth and Pauline (Wendalawski) Eitelman. Mr. Eitelman relocated to Orwell in 1957 where he owned and operated a dairy farm and riding stable for many years. He also owned and operated Dick’s and Glenda’s Beverages in Vergennes until 1990. BEDFORD, Mass. — Helen Lathrop Brooks, of Bedford, Mass., formerly of Lincoln, Mass., and Cambridge, Mass., died at Carleton-Willard Village in Bedford on Aug. 17, 2019, at the age of 101, five days short of her 102nd birthday. She was the wife of the late Harvard University Professor Harvey Brooks. She was born in Fall River, Mass., on Aug. 22, 1917, the daughter of the late Francis Owen Lathrop, Sr. and Alice (Gordon) Lathrop. Strong, born in Shoreham, Vt. on Nov. 5, 1950, passed away at the VA Hospital in Albany, N.Y. on June 23, 2019 Danny served in Viet Nam with the 101st Airborne 2nd Battalion 17th Cavalry Delta troop as a paratrooper and scout.
