MIDDLEBURY — Audrey Candido, 89, of Middlebury, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2021. She was born May 15, 1931, in Fall River, Mass., to Mary (Pickering) and Frank Bernardo. She married Antonio Candido May 28, 1949, in Fall River.
She is survived by her sisters Carol Lundrigan and Sandra Campion; children Susan Brown, Donna Perrin and Michael Candido; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Husband Antonio Candido predeceased her, as did her siblings Frank Bernardo and Shirley McAlevey.
VERGENNES — Betty Casavant Bristol, 94, of Vergennes passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Saint Albans Health and Rehab, in Saint Albans, Vt.
She leaves behind her daughters Katherine Ellis of Bridport, Vt., and Martha Casavant, of Hebron, Conn.; and her grandsons, James Schuler, of Swanton, Vt., and Eric Massey, of Milton, Vt. Betty was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Casavant, second husband Kenneth Bristol, and son Steven Casavant.

Theresa was born in Middlebury, Vt., to the late Francis and Florence Bearor. She married Arthur Dufresne on April 17, 2005. Theresa graduated from MUHS in 1977. Theresa became an LNA, where she enjoyed taking care of people.

UTICA, N.Y. — Rev. Richard Louis Manzelmann, 92, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, Jan. 25, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Utica, N.Y.
Richard “Dick” was born in Detroit, Mich., in 1928 and moved to Plainfield, N.J., shortly thereafter. He graduated with a BA from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., in 1950. It was there that he “felt the calling” to go into the ministry. He attended and graduated from Union Theological Seminary in New York City with a MDIV degree in 1953 and was ordained to the ministry that year in the Crescent Ave Presbyterian Church in Plainfield, N.J.

SHOREHAM — Rodney H. Stagg, 83, of Shoreham died on Saturday, Jan. 30. He was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., on Jan. 26, 1938, the son of Roy and Dorothy (Myrick) Stagg.
Rodney moved from Ticonderoga just before starting school. For his first eight years he went to school in Shoreham. In 1957, he was part of the last class to graduate from Middlebury High School. Millie was born to George and Florence (Vaughan) Janousek in Plattsburgh N.Y. She attended Beeman Academy and graduated from Mount Abraham.
Millie worked for 10 years in the business office at Standard Register and later as a driver for ACTR. She was a member of the New Haven United Reformed Church. Millie moved into Middlebury Commons in 1991 as soon as it was completed and resided there for almost 30 years.

BRANDON — Bertha M. Dolan died Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, in her sleep at Wintergreen Residential Care Home in Brandon. She was 82.
She was born Feb. 4, 1938, in New Haven, the daughter of Chester and Ruth (Lafayette) Williams. She graduated from Bristol High School in 1956. She married John J. Dolan in 1957; they later divorced.
