Paving of Main Street in Vergennes limits parking

VERGENNES — Parking on Main Street in Vergennes will be severely curtailed for a couple days next week as the city undertakes a major paving project.
Vergennes Police Chief George Merkel said that there will be no parking on Main Street between East Street and the Otter Creek Bridge from the evening of Monday, June 22, until the morning of Thursday, June 25.
City officials are hoping that they will be able to keep two lanes of traffic open during the paving process, but that won’t leave room for parking.
