Reading all the way to Russia
RIPTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL celebrated its month-long readathon on Saturday, July 4. Between June 1 and July 3, RES students tracked the number of minutes they spent with their nose in a book, each minute earning one mile as they pedaled their virtual bicycles around the world. With over 8,000 minutes read, students completed a virtual bike trip all the way to Russia. The community shared free ice cream cones, which students — including recent graduates Matthew McIntosh and Mary Harrington — and their families picked up drive-through style at the school.
