Rummage sale in Vergennes set for April 2

VERGENNES — The Commodore Parent Teacher Group (CPTG) will hold its fifth annual Trinkets and Treasures Rummage Sale at Vergennes Union High School on Saturday, April 2, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the high school gym. Items for sale include furniture, household goods, collectibles, adult and kids’ clothing and more.
Last year’s sale raised over $7,000 for the VUHS Commodore Enrichment Grant Program, which began in 2013. Through that program, CPTG has given over $8,000 in grant money for projects that include the VUHS Oratorical Guild, the VUHS Environmental Club, eighth-grade social studies projects, the VUHS senior class Project Graduation, science department and art department field drips, and the Math Counts team. All VUHS staff and teachers are invited to apply for grants year round.
In addition to the Commodore Enrichment Grant Program, CPTG facilitates weekly e-news to grades 7-12, and has sponsored Back to School Night each September and Curriculum Night. The group has also provided healthy snacks to students during standardized testing dates and helped begin the ski program at Bolton.
To learn more about the CPTG or to get involved, consider attending one of its monthly meetings. Check the school calendar at www.vuhs.org for meeting dates.
