Small business workshop to be held in Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY — Addison County Economic Development Corp. (ACEDC) and the Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC) are co-sponsoring a free workshop titled “Alternative Financing Resources for Business” on Thursday, Feb. 11, from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Ilsley Library Community Room in Middlebury.
This workshop will explain some of the many alternative sources of funding available to Vermont businesses directly from the source. There will be 90 minutes of panel discussion followed by 30 minutes provided for individual meetings between capital providers and business owners.
Panelists include representatives from: ACEDC/Kiva Zip (a national micro-lending program for which ACEDC is the only Vermont trustee), Community Capital of Vermont, Flexible Capital Fund, Vermont Small Business Ownership Exemption program, VEDA (Vermont Economic Development Authority) and National Bank of Middlebury.
This workshop is ideal for business owners who are having difficulty obtaining traditional financing due to the unproven nature of their business, or their small size, collateral situation or unconventional product line.
