ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school lacrosse action over the past week, the Vergennes-Mount Abraham cooperative girls’ team picked up another two victories, the Middlebury girls dropped a close road game for their first setback, and the Mount Abe-VUHS cooperative and Otter Valley boys’ teams each split a pair of games while picking up their first victories.

VUHS GIRLS
On Friday, the Commodore girls’ lacrosse team had little trouble with Colchester, improving to 3-0 with a 17-1 victory in a game played at Mount Abe.
Illia Dennison, Sydney Weber, Annika Funke, Ryley Olsen and Annie Dufault each scored twice to lead the attack, and seven players added a goal apiece in another balanced scoring effort for the VUHS-Mount Abe collective. Commodore goalie Carley Cook made two saves, and Laker goalie Taylor Dickie was strong with 18 stops.
On Tuesday, the Commodores improved to 4-0 by topping visiting Milton, 17-2. Leading the attack this time out were Halle Huizenga (three goals, four assists), Hannah Kelly (four goals, assist), and Bekah Duprey, Weber and Marley Keith (two goals apiece).

EAGLE BOYS
On Monday, the Mount Abe-VUHS boys’ collective pulled out a dramatic win over BFA-Fairfax, 6-5. Griff Paradee scored the game-winner with a second to go in regulation, whipping home a shot from the top of the box into the upper right corner.
Paradee’s bomb completed a hat trick, and Henry Anderson, Iain Olsen and Jake Edwards added a goal apiece. Goalie Aidan Danyow made seven saves to backstop a victory that moved the Eagles to 1-2. Fairfax goalie Max Mills made nine saves as his team dropped to 2-1.
On Saturday, the Eagles were blanked by visiting Rice, 17-0, despite 11 saves from Danyow.

OV BOYS
On Saturday, the Otters edged host Brattleboro, 9-7, to give first-year Coach Matt Clark his first victory leading the program. OV outscored the Colonels, 4-2 in the second half and got eight saves from Dom Davis to pull out the win.
Leading the way offensively were Hayden Bernhardt (three goals), Brady McDonough (two goals, two assists) and Evan Thomas (goal, three assists). David Williams, Austin Cormany and Thomas Politano added a goal apiece, and Clark credited the work of Williams on faceoffs.
On Tuesday, host Woodstock topped OV, 13-4. Bernhardt scored twice, and McDonough and Politano also found the net for OV (1-2) against the undefeated D-I Wasps.

TIGER GIRLS
On Monday, host Essex edged the Tigers, 6-5, dropping MUHS to 1-1. Abby Robbins scored three times for the 1-1 Hornets, and goalie Sierra Harris made seven saves.
For the Tigers, Nora Wootten and Hana Doria each scored twice, Ella Tucker had one goal, and goalie Lydia Deppman stopped eight shots.
