Stephanie Jerome

I encourage voters in Sudbury, Brandon, and Pittsford to join me in re-electing Stephanie Jerome for the Vermont House of Representatives. Stephanie has spent her first term working on issues that help our state’s small communities and businesses thrive. Over the past two years, she has served on the House Commerce and Economic Development Committee, the new Joint Small Business Solutions Task Force, and the Regional Economic Development Grants committee. During the COVID-19 emergency order, she led the Legislative Action Team, working tirelessly with 25 legislators to help 2,300 Vermonters...

While serving as a member of the Otter Valley Unified Union School Board, I attended a workshop about how to strengthen and sustain public engagement. I chuckled when I heard the phrase “crickets and pitchforks,” referring to the two typical reactions elected officials receive from the public: silence and outrage. I was excited to learn that engagement is not simply possible, but is the linchpin of democracy. Working in a true unified fashion, the OVUU school board sought out every way to connect with the community, to hear the diversity of all voices.  Now that my term has ended I am still...

In 2008 I relocated to Brandon from the Boston area for a new job opportunity and change of scenery. I’ve developed roots here by purchasing a home and making friends. One of the first people I met was Stephanie Jerome. We’ve logged many miles together walking and running, talking about work, children, and aging parents. I’m happy that she’s my state representative, but more than that, I’m proud to call Stephanie my friend. Brandon, Pittsford, and Sudbury are fortunate to have Stephanie as our representative in Montpelier and I urge Rutland-6 voters to re-elect her. I’m one of the many...

Two years ago I urged people to vote for Stephanie Jerome because of her stance on Education. Today I urge people once again to vote for Stephanie Jerome not because of what she might do for us but because of what she has already done.  I’m constantly impressed by Representative Jerome. I’ve reached out to her about various concerns from radon testing in our schools to protecting Vermonters from surprise automatic renewals for apps and services, and each time she has come back to me with information about what the legislature is doing or what she has done to advance the issue in committee....

The residents of Brandon, Pittsford and Sudbury are so very lucky to have Stephanie Jerome as our Representative in Montpelier. Stephanie’s hard-working ethic, integrity and genuine desire to help people makes her the perfect legislator. It is well known that Stephanie has the education, intelligence and experience to do the job. But what Stephanie also has is the compassion, the resourcefulness, and the drive to kick it up a notch. It is her caring nature that makes Stephanie stand out in the field. Whenever I have contacted her with a question or concern about myself or a family member —...

I am encouraging my fellow voters in Brandon, Sudbury and Pittsford to cast one of their two votes for State Representative for Stephanie Jerome when you submit your November ballot. Stephanie has been a quick study during her first term in Montpelier, — definitely serving our three towns, and all of Vermont, well. As the campaign manager for Brandon’s former Representative Joe Acinapura, I know how overwhelming the first term can be. Stephanie took it in stride and excelled.  We are lucky to have her energy on the Committee on Commerce and Economic Development, where she serves as the clerk...

I remember the first time I met House Representative Stephanie Jerome. She knocked on my front door and handed me a flyer announcing her candidacy. We spoke for just a moment, as I was heading out for an appointment, but I recall thinking, what a nice, down-to-earth woman. Though not a politically active person, I could see myself voting for her.  Fast forward two years. The pandemic closed my place of business, and that of so many others, and took our livelihoods with it. Until then I had never signed up for unemployment. My attempts to file online with the Dept. of Labor were unsuccessful...

Editor’s note: This letter was written by three Democratic members of the Vermont House of Representatives. We are women business owners who serve in the legislature and we believe more Vermonters should have access to paid family leave in their time of need. Paid family leave should not be limited to people who work for large employers or have high-income jobs. As business owners, we know the value of our workers and we believe that paid family leave is good for employees and good for business. That’s why the House and Senate passed a plan to create a statewide paid family and medical leave...
