Tiger and Otter Valley lacrosse teams lose

ADDISON COUNTY — The Middlebury girls and boys and the Otter Valley boys’ lacrosse teams saw disappointing results in games played in the middle of last week.
The Mount Abraham-Vergennes boys played at Montpelier on Friday after the early holiday deadline for this issue. The VUHS-Mount Abe girls hosted Green Mountain Valley on Thursday; see story on Page 17.
The Vermont Principals’ Association was scheduled to release playoff pairings on Monday morning.
TIGER GIRLS
On Wednesday host Mount Mansfield rallied for a 12-11 victory over the Tiger girls, dropping the Tigers to 7-8 and denying them a chance for a winning regular season. The Tigers were set to wrap up by hosting Champlain Valley on Saturday morning.
Cougar Bella Mosca scored her fourth goal in the final two minutes to break an 11-11 tie and give the 4-11 Cougars the win. Allison Charland scored six goals, and MMU goalie Georgia Bosely made eight saves.
Emily Laframboise scored three times, included her 100th career goal, to lead MUHS. Ada Anderson, Lacey Greenamyre, Grace Tucker and Malia Hodges added two goals apiece, and goalie Lydia Deppman stopped five shots.
OTTER BOYS
On Wednesday visiting Hartford cruised past the OV boys, 18-4, dealing the Otters their first Division II setback. Hayden Gallo scored three goals and Ethan Sulik-Doty had a goal and an assist for OV. Alec Stevens made 12 saves for OV, which dropped to 7-4 heading into a Saturday road rematch with Hartford.
TIGER BOYS
On Wednesday visiting Mount Mansfield topped the Tigers, 11-7, dropping MUHS to 4-11. The Tigers were hoping to finish on a high note on Saturday, when they were hosting six-time defending D-I champion Champlain Valley.
