In the last year and a half I had two strokes and was debilitated in many ways. I was not afraid of sharing this news with the world; in fact I wrote about it in this newspaper and shared it on social media. The response from this amazing community was kindness, generosity, and support.
So I am confused as to why the public has to be kept in the dark about COVID-19 patients. I don’t need to know someone’s name, but some details would be important to know. Last week it was reported someone at a college sporting event tested positive, but they were not a threat. What event were they at? How is...
My wife Nikki and I were truly humbled by the incredible response to our benefit party last week in Middlebury. A simple “thank you” does not adequately express our gratitude but since we lack the words, let us say “thank you” to: friends, colleagues and acquaintances who attended and showed such love and support; the Marquis Theater for donating such a great space; the Addison Independent for organizing the event; the Silverbacks and The Grift for entertaining all of us with their amazing talents; and the local businesses for donating raffle prizes. It was a great night and a real testament...

MIDDLEBURY — Wow!
That says it all when describing the TrentTown Rock fundraiser for Trent Campbell and Nikki Juvan that took place at Middlebury’s Marquis Theater this past Wednesday evening.
Staff at Addison Press and Freedom Publications put a call out to the community to come together and help our friends Trent and Nikki. As many people know, Trent was the award-winning staff photographer for the Addison Independent for more than two decades when he suffered a stroke in October 2018, knocking him off the job. He suffered another stroke last March.
He is making good progress in recovery...
MIDDLEBURY — The Addison County Independent and two local bands are teaming up to assist a colleague as he recovers from a medical crisis — and throw a mid-winter dance party at the Marquis Theater in Middlebury for everyone to enjoy.
Award-winning photographer Trent Campbell and his wife Nikki Juvan have been hit with big medical bills after Campbell suffered a series of strokes in late 2018 and early 2019. Those bills, coupled with the loss of Campbell’s income for more than a year, have created a financial crisis for the couple.
To lend a hand, Campbell’s colleagues at the Addison County...
ADDISON INDEPENDENT PHOTOGRAPHER Trent Campbell is still recovering from strokes he suffered a year ago.
MIDDLEBURY — One year after suffering the first of two strokes, Addison Independent photographer Trent Campbell continues his long road to recovery in hopes of once again immortalizing the people, places and scenes of Addison County.
“I’m getting stronger,” he said during a brief phone interview on Tuesday.
“I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
That said, Trent realizes it might be a while before he emerges out the other end of that tunnel, as evidenced by an update his wife Nikki posted on Oct. 21 on his Gofundme webpage, which has been re-energized to help the couple cover...
