Vermont’s unique history is the topic of Sheldon Museum’s annual meeting

MIDDLEBURY — Steve Perkins, Executive Director of the Vermont Historical Society is the keynote speaker for the Annual Dinner and Meeting of the Henry Sheldon Museum on Wednesday, Nov. 14. A lifelong Vermonter, Stephen Perkins’ professional career has led him on a path of preserving and celebrating Vermont’s unique history and iconic landscape. Perkins will present a talk entitled “The Past, Present, and Future of Historical Societies.” In his remarks, he will explore the genesis of historical societies, the social pressures driving their proliferation, and their impact on community and culture.
The dinner and meeting will take place at the Kirk Alumni Center, Middlebury College, 217 Golf Course Road in Middlebury. A cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m., followed by the presentation. Tickets are $50/person. RSVP by Nov. 6, 2018.
