MIDDLEBURY — The Middlebury College women’s basketball won two out of three recent games, prevailing on the road on Tuesday in a non-league contest after the Panthers split their first two NESCAC games of the year this past weekend.
The Panthers (12-3, 1-1 NESCAC) will next host league foes Colby and Bowdoin on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m., respectively.
This past Friday visiting Amherst (13-1, 2-0) topped Middlebury, 60-38. The Panthers hung with the Mammoths until early in the third period, when Amherst used a 7-0 run to stretch its lead to 15.

The game concluded first-semester play for the 7-1 Panthers, whose only loss came when two starters sat with injuries. They will return to action on Dec. 31 with a 2 p.m. home game vs. Mt. St. Mary. Nazareth fell to 6-2.

The Panthers were playing without two injured starters.
