Brattleboro blanks host Otter Valley baseball squad

BRATTLEBORO — Host Brattleboro blanked the Otter Valley Union High School baseball team on Monday, 9-0, after scoring six runs in the first two innings.
The Division I Colonels improved to 8-5, while the D-II Otters dropped to 7-6.
Coach Tim Mitchell said the Colonels made the most of their hits, many of which came with runners in scoring position, and a few OV miscues. Meanwhile, he said, the Otters made contact but couldn’t come up with hits to drive in runs.
Emmett Thurston and Mike Winslow had two hits apiece, and John Winslow and Shane Quenneville also had hits for OV, Mitchell said. John Winslow took the pitching loss, going five innings, and Will Claessens tossed a relief inning.
