Green Mountain Club virtual hikes available

Imagine hiking through some of the most magnificent scenery or in remote canyons. Indeed that is all we can do at this time is imagine while under the stay at home requirement. Therefore we at the Green Mountain Club thought the next best thing is to let you come along on some virtual hikes with us.
We have assembled a number of videos for your enjoyment and amusement that you can watch at your leisure — even in your pajamas if you want. So no need to get your backpack, hiking poles and boots out for these journeys, just an armchair, popcorn and a suitable beverage. Serious viewers are requested to load up their back pack, dress suitably for the conditions, get their boots on and set that treadmill for 3 to 4 miles per hour and at least a 20 degree incline.
You can access these videos via the Green Mountain Club, Breadloaf sections web site.
Type in your search window “Green Mountain Club Breadloaf” or enter the following web site address: gmcbreadloaf.org. On the GMC Information page tap/open up “Adventures with Ivor.” This will take you to the site titled “Hiking with Ivor and Friends.” We have selected a number of hikes and backpacking trips organized into two sections: “Adventures in North America” and “Adventure on other continents.” You will find trips to the Grand Canyon, Canyonlands, the Rockies, the Yukon, as well as Europe and Patagonia down in South America.
We hope these trips provide you with some ideas and give you itchy feet to get out and enjoy the great outdoors once we get through the current situation. As always, we encourage you to join us at the Green Mountain Club on organized hikes at all levels. There is also a special branch for kids called “The Young Adventurers Club.” Green Mountain Club is the custodian of the Long Trail that runs the length of Vermont as well as the 80 odd side trails.
